KALA GHODA ART FESTIVAL

The Kala Ghoda Art Festival is an AMAZING festival that occurs every February in Mumbai and is nine days in length. We were lucky enough to arrive in Mumbai at the tail-end of the festivities. On our first morning in Mumbai, we ventured out and walked over to the festival (although the festival is VERY spread out, so we missed many of the exhibits and attractions). Tip: If you attend the festival, you will be required to go through security. Women and men are separated during this time, so just keep that in mind and make sure you don’t have anything alarming/suspicious in your bag. The festival is FREE to attend, and there is a downloadable map on the website.

My favorite type of art is installation art, so I was in heaven at the festival. There were SO MANY amazing and creative art installations.

After walking through the area of exhibits, we walked through the artist booths to search for some souvenirs / gifts for my family. It was an awesome experience getting to talk with and ask questions to the artists.
